Aloha

As a conceptual artist, my work draws inspiration from the richness of Hawaiian culture as a way to explore themes of place, duality, and identity. Though I am not Native Hawaiian, I approach these cultural traditions with deep respect and a commitment to honoring the stories and values they represent. I believe the close study of Hawaiian thought opens a unique door to universal truths for the student.

In my art practice, I reimagine these connections through contemporary art forms, using visual representation to evoke a sense of the spiritual and physical ties that hula embodies. My goal is to create works that encourage reflection on our relationship to the world around us. Central to my art is the exploration of Hawaiian cosmology and narratives. By using abstraction and symbolism, I invite viewers to reflect on their relationships with the natural world. My hope is that my work sparks profound engagement for viewers in new, thought-provoking ways.
